Hi there,

I am currently struggling with an authorization problem in MQ 5.3. I can create a queue manager but when I want to connect it gives me the following error:
“Access not authorized. You are not authorized to perform this operation (AMQ4036)”.
I’ve created a new local account for mqseries and I have added it to the Admin and MQM group.

Can someone please assist.

What platform? (I'm guessing Windows). What level of MQ?

Is this new local account the one that's doing the connect, i.e. is it the one running the connecting app or are you supplying the details via the connection? Indeed are you attempting a client or a bindings connection?
Does the connection work if you explictitly give +connect authority to the user id in question?


In extremis you can enable events to see exactly what's going on, but remember to switch them off after debugging is complete.
