As for as US is concerned you need H1B visa sponsored by some US based company or your employer in India but you have to wait until next year. The other option is L1 visa but this is possible only when your employer sponsors it.
I guess for UK, you can get a work permit on your own. |

Thanks mqsidude, for the information you provided. And I guess you said that I will have to wait till next year, because entire process of applying for petition and other things are going to take around an year!!!
And as far as UK is concerned, I think I should first wait for the opportunity then only apply for work permit! Please provide your valuable comments..
Thanks |

Apply now, you'll get the permit in 2 months, only then will companies in UK even look at your resume.
I guess there are openings in UK, but u need to get there first.
Regards. |

H1 visa applications are accepted starting on April 1st (not sure why on a fools day) every year unt8il the quota gets over.
The H1 visa quota got finished on the first day itself this year.
The situation will be the same next year too due to high demand and limited quota.
Us8ually companies start doing the paper work in January or even before and finally apply starting on April 1 every year.
If everything is ok the petition will be approved before October 1st of the same year so one can start working in the US from October 1st.
thanks. |

And they have started the stupid lottery system for selecting your applications , due to huge number of application filed....
So if your a lucky enough you will get it , like I got mine this year...
I think I had been lucky for the first time in my life... .... ...
Looking for jobs in the US these days....
One questions for the GURUS --- Is it important to have a SSN before you apply for jobs in the US and also do you have to be physically present in the US...for searching the jobs...Dont the company like people having good work ex. in INDIA...?????
Can I give a interview staying here in INDIA and crack a US oppurtunity..??? |

I think you'll find U.S. employers very unwilling to pay to fly you out from India for an in-person interview if it gets that far. And not very willing to pay to have you relocate, either.
But I suppose it depends on your skills and the company.

FWIW I can't get an interview for a job in the US from the UK without an H1B or green card. So I don't think it's an Indian thing. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
