I'm sorry, but it might be a basic question that I could not get answer to:
The MQ Document says that a message of upto 100MB can be transeferred using MQ.
But when looked the MAXMSGLEN attribute of a queue, it's 10MB and also the same for the channel. I know that segmentation can be used to break message into chunks of 10MB or less. When they have a max message size of 100MB, does it mean even if we segment the messages , the total size of these small messages with same GroupID should not exceed 100MBytes?

We currently have a situation where we are getting a file of size 150MB. How can we use MQ in such cases then? It would be greatly appreciated if an MQ expert can answer my question.

No individual physical message can be larger than 100MBs.

Logical messages, either grouped or segmented, can be larger than 100MBs - but no physical message in the group or physical segment can be larger than 100MB.

Thanks for the reply Jeff.
That's exactly my question. I just don't understand how could a message of size up to 100MB can be transferred across MQ when the queue and channel allows only 10MB. Am I missing something here??

It can't be.

If you want to ship a 100Mb message, you have to adjust the MaxMsgLn everywhere in order to move it.

Unless you segment or group it into physical messages that are smaller than the current maxmsgln.
