I have a jar file from a user-defined node created for a previous version of the message broker toolkit but am not sure how to use that Jar to create this same node in V6? Any advise?

The jar file itself, for the runtime piece, should be the same.

You merely have to run mqsimigrateflows on the old Control Center part. This will create the Toolkit piece.
