I am using WMB V6 on Windows XP.
When I clicked on a deployed bar file under an execution group, a pop up window came up saying "An error has occurred, see log for more detail".
Any idea what log it is referring to ?

Look event log under broker topology else computer management - System tools - event viewer -Application.

It's referring to the Eclipse error log for the Toolkit.

There's an "Error Log" View you can open.

It likely won't be much help.

Restart the toolkit with -clean. If that doesn't work, apply the latest iFix from Rational Product Updater.
