And from that server connection that's fine (though I would question the wisdom of using a system object, and the admin one at that, for an application use).

My question centered round how & why the previous poster thought that the broker's connection would show client usage. That's an even odder place to put a client. Unless (as I intimated) I'm having a bad morning.

Hi Vitor,

Prob.. its a wrong question......wht m trying to do is check the number of scada clients connected to broker........One way is to subscribe to stat reports published by broker on topic $SYS/Broker/+/ExecutionGroup/+/Statistics...............

From discussion in this forum......i thought i can check the count of broker clients using SYSTEM.BKR.CONFIG channel......

prob i was wrong......

You're probably in the right area. I personally would doubt that they're connected via that channel (which is a system object with a specific use), but you should be able to use the techniques described in this post against the channel they are connected by.

g.m. Vitor : I didnt like to use a system object, the same as you.

But there are environments where administration is not allowed to us,
while still have to run some testing
(exhausting MQ Server with 1.000-ds of connections)
so it was (almost) the only way ...

But we are improving, thanks to comments as yours.

Cheers. S.

Sooner or later we're all forced to this.
