We had a requirement to change the default values of MaxChannels and MaxActiveChannels attributes. We edited the QM.ini file to do this and resterted the Qmgr. This is on AIX

How do I know the change took affect. If there a way to display these attributes?

Thanks,
pvemuri.

Nope. No way to check. I wish there was a display for this that told you what the QM was actually using versus just relying on what's in the qm.ini file or on Windows in QM Properties.

Well, I mean.

If it's guaranteed that the qmgr will always be using what's in the qm.ini or Windows registry... then what value is added by making available ANOTHER source of information on this subject?

Also, please remember.

MaxChannels is not used except on zOS.

I can change the qm.ini or registry to 3000. That does mean the QM is running with 3000 . Yet.

mmm. Point.

One would be able to tell that qm.ini was modified since last time of qmgr restart, but the same is not true for the registry.
