On AS/400 V5R3
I use the the following command to backup the Queue manager "TEST"
MS03/QSAVEQMGR VERSION(530) LCLQMGRNAM(TEST) FILENAME('MS03/QMQSC(TEST)')

I delete the QM "TEST", then recreate it
but when I try to use the following command to restore the QM.
STRMQMMQSC SRCMBR(TEST) SRCFILE(MS03/QMQSC) OPTION(*RUN) MQMNAME(TEST)

The spool file says:

**********************************
Starting MQSC for queue manager TEST.
000008A0 |AMQ08 0| |WebSphere MQ was unable to display an error message for message id hexadecimal %6, with inserts %1, %2, %3,
|
No MQSC commands read.
No commands have a syntax error.
All valid MQSC commands were processed.
*************************

I have been working on this for a few days, Can someone give me a light. Thanks in advanced.

Hi there,
Have you had a look at the contents of the file that the Queue Manager definitions are written to? ("MS03/QMQSC(TEST)") Perhaps the definitions file isnt getting written to correctly?

Paul,

I also doubt about the contents of the file, so I replace the content with a simple line of command as below
DEFINE QLOCAL ('Q1')

It can run successful if I use RUNMQSC and input the command interactively. However, when I store that line of command in QMQSC(TEST) and use STRMQMMQSC, it get the result I shown before.

if you have MQ with a diferent language from operating system, copy the AMQMSGF (i guess this is the name) file from MQ original library to QSYS.

Joao,

Thanks for the advise, I only find AMQMSG *MSGF in our AS/400, I checked that both library QSYS and QMQM have this file, they are the same.

you could check if your mq jobs have qsys2924 (or your language lib) in there librarylist.
I changed JOBD for QMQMJOBD, AMQZLAA0 and AMQZXMA0, so that all job running in subsystem qmqm have qsys2924 in the LIBL.

regards, Ulli
