Hi all!

This topic has been discussed earlier and I know that you can redirect your stdout to a file in your JCN nodes, but since the question keeps coming up from my customers and colleagues I'd like to settle it once and for all.

According to "http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/SG247283.html" there should be two files, stdout and stderr in "<WorkPath>/components/<broker_Name>/<EG_UUID>/stdout" where your sysout and syserr should be written to. I've tried to find info about how to write to them with no success. Even though I'm writing to sysout in my JCN nodes and trying to throw exceptions I dont get the files.

Is there some property you should set in order to activate this function?
Im running on WinXP and assuming the file should be in the usual "All applications" folder.

Thanks!

You have to do something like allow the broker service to interact with the desktop.

Honestly, you're better off using log4J or MbService, really.

Yeah, I know. This was asked out of curiosity since its always about the second first thing my customers ask me about when I introduce them to the JCN.
Hmm, interact with the desktop.. Seems strange since it can store all other resource file in the same folders, but Ill have to try it when I get back to work.
