We currently have a single config manager and broker (v6) running on Windows 2003 Server. This will soon be going live and for a short period of time, we will have no test system so I want to create a second CFG MGR and Broker on the same box to be used as a totally spearate environment. The current solution replies on JARS in the /shared-classes folder. i will need to point this second 'TEST' broker configuration at a different location for these jar files. I have looked into creating a mqsiprofile_TEST.cmd to setup the classpath for the second broker but cannot see anywhere in windows where the broker will pick up these settings (we have done something similar unix).
I would want to run the second broker with a different profile than the production broker.
Am I on the right track or up the wrong tree!
Thanks for thee reply - I know that this is not the ideal scenario but this is what the customer has asked for (despite being strongley recommended against it) - this is a very short term measure that will be replaced ASAP.
If you HAD to create this sort of environment in on a windows platform, would you create an mqsiprofile_<environment>.cmd file for each environment with the environment specific classpath for each? If so, how do you link each Broker (running under its own profile) to its specific mqsiprofile.cmd?
thanks for that - I have done this on unix where you modify the broker user id's '.profile' file to point to the appropriate mqsiprofile.cmd - is this the same on Windows? - where do you modify the windows user profile?
