we can find the IDOC size by file generating XML from XSD files of the IDOC.

Is there any other way to find that?

Thanks.

If SAP is getting an Inbound IDOC thru SAP Adapter. If we generate the msgset from that IDoc.Only some fields are mapped in that IDoc.How/When we find the Idoc size that is going to the SAP?
Is it after mapping or before that(generating xml from XSD's of IDoc)?

You mean the length of the message tree when it's rendered AS a BITSTREAM?

As rule of thumb:
The idoc has always the following makeup:
1 EDI_DC40 record (check size from SAP)
X EDI_DD40 records (size 1063 bytes from memory)

Add any headers like SAPH size 108 bytes and you have a payload size.
Add the MQMD size and you have a message size...

Enjoy
