Go to the directory containing the executable ( cd C:\Program Files\IBM\AgentController\bin)

Double click the executable.

Or at the command prompt,

Code:
net start "IBM Rational Agent Controller"

ahhh, but there are two executables. one service, one server. When the RAC is started via services it comes back with an 'Error 1053'. No Event messages, no servicelog messages, nothing. Turned on traceing via the serviceconfig.xml file and restarted the puppy and still nothing. The machine has been reboted several times and the product re-installed twice.

I think I had a brown bag lunch with someone having a similar problem recently.

It seemed a re-install was necessary.

well, the user said they reinstalled but I am wondering........

now I am getting a message that THEY are getting a messag indicating hcclco.dll is 'not found'. You may have just seen this come past your email. Anyway, I do think something is amiss in the install. TNX.

As Jeff said somewhere in this or another post that RAC has reputation for being unstable. This is very true statement about RAC. Even after getting it worked, it just does not work and I have to reinstall it again. So, I would suggest to intall again until you get it working.

Well........did that multiple times. More than one should be expected to do. So, the dll's were copied from another system to the 'troubled' system and things work now.
