Hallo,

I'm faced with very strange problems and after looking in the docu I'm in doubt, if this combination(MQ 5.3 CSD11 on Windows 2003 Server R2) works.

Has anybody tried this? Are there any differences to Windows 2003 Server SP1?

Thank in Advance

Regards Gunter

Hi

I think windows 2003 R2 extends the features than that of windows 2003 service pack 1. Its a newer version from Windows.

So i dont think the windows 2003 R2 will make/prompt any side effects to the MQ series that you are installing.

Please let us know which document that you had gone through.

I suggest you to try it out on windows 2003 R2.

Thanks and Regards
Gayathri

Hi,

we use mq 5.3 with windows 2003 and windows 2000 whithout problems. Now we got a new server from Dell with preinstalled windows 2003 R2.

I looked for Information an found a relation th access rights and policies.
Before starting a big research I'd like to know, if this combination is legal.

In the mq docs
Quote:
System Requirements for WebSphere MQ 6.0 Windows
# Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition) [see note 1]
# Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 (Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition)

Change History:
28 June 2006: Added Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 in Operating Systems.

Quote:
System Requirements for WebSphere MQ for Windows v5.3
# Microsoft Windows 2003 Standard and Enterprise edition

Change History: Last updated: 30 August 2006
The is maybe a reason they mention both versions in 6.0 and only one in 5.3(CSD12).

Regards Gunter

Hi,

it looks as if mq only works if Active Directory is enabled.
After enabling Active Directory and performing following instructions, mq works.
