Hi all,
environment: MQ 5.3 CSD 07on AIX.
we had an issue with the disk filling up causing a production QM to go down. Once that issue was sorted and a restart tried, the QM refused to start. Since the logging was set to circular, the final decision taken (by the MQ Admin) was to raise a PMR to sort the issue out.
Fix pack 12 was installed as per IBM recommendation with no effect. Then a java library fix was given by IBM support which was replaced, again to no avail.
Then the decision was taken to cold start the QM. A dummy queue manager was created with the exact log settings of the original QM. The logs of the corrupt QM were removed (deleted) and replaced with the logs from the newly created QM. Then the original QM was started.
The QM came up but the strange thing is that it still contains all the messages that were present when it went down. Is there something that we could have overlooked because by understanding is that when the logs get replaced, the messages are lost.
Regards,
Anoop
