Thanks for those links and definately going to look at them and would not mind any more. One thing though is how do you rate them? Links I have tried before here in UK - like Monster and Jobsite - are odd, they call you and try to pursuade you into a different career path and if unsuccessful you never here from them again.

I've had dealings with Red Commerce and they've never done as you described. I have a somewhat jaundiced view of recruitment agencies so decline to rate them.

Personally, I've had more luck with

www.jobserve.com

but maybe that's just me

This might interest you:-

********************

glue: Consulting & Delivery

glue: is an independent UK based specialist consulting organisation whose focus is on integration and architecture consulting, focus is on helping the CIO and the executive IS management team realise a range of 'enterprise integration', ‘enterprise information visibility’ and technology-enabled business objectives.

We have grown since our inception in 1999 to 80 employees by differentiating ourselves through the provision of a combination of ‘pragmatic thought leadership’ and IPR enabled packaged services to our clients that decrease the time and cost to value. Our clients cover multiple industry sectors and include organisations such as Alliance and Leicester, Amersham, Argos, Axa, BBC, Boots, Burberry, BSKYB, Carphone Warehouse, Diageo, ICI Paints, Johnson & Johnson, Kraft Foods, Orange, Somerfields, Tesco, UBS, Vodafone and WH Smiths. glue: are backed by complementary partnerships with leading vendors such as IBM (Tier-1 Partner for IBM WebSphere Services), Pegasystems and webMethods, with further business links to Microsoft, SAP (NetWeaver), Tibco / StaffWare, SeeBeyond (Sun Microsystems), Oracle, and Siebel.

The other side to our business is...

glue: People

In 2004 glue: established a recruitment practice named glue:people.

This operation is the highly successful, niche Staffing division of glue. It exists to provide a resourcing service to glue:’s client base where there is a need for a specialist body (such as WEBSPHERE/WBI/MQ) rather than a deliverable based service.

Simply put, we mirror glue:’s consulting business from a recruitment perspective.

Over the years we have earnt the scars of working with various recruitment companies that have not understood this area of IT, and have not had much of a candidate network in these disciplines (not including the recruitment companies mentioned below in this statement). So two years ago we decided to set up our own recruitment arm, initially to populate our glue: professional services team only.

Since then; this offering has been embraced by many end-users who have supported the opportunity of partnering with us for recruitment services. This is across disciplines such as Integration, Data and Architectiure (Enterprise, Application and Data).

********************

The recruitment arm to glue: (although extremely busy) is still in its infancy, and so I would certainly recommend also speaking with Red Commerce and European Staffing Solutions; two recruitment firms with Integration/Architecture teams that we rate very highly in the UK marketplace. For IBM you might want to also try Huw Whitethread at Sentinel IT. Hope this helps.

Of course I would be very keen to see a CV incase we can assist ourselves. My email address is below.

All the best in your job hunting!

Regards,

I've moved job twice in the past year, and I spoke to many, many recruitment agents, most of whom didn't understand the difference between various WebSphere products. The only two who I would recommend are:

Huw Whitethread - I didn't end up getting a job through him but he definitely appeared to know his WebSphere stuff

Roland Schnapka at Executive Net Ltd - he had several WMB posts when I was applying and was very good at following them up

Oh, and I can recommend jobserve as well.

As 'gbbailey' mentions in the post above, there are few recruitment agents out there that understand the differences in the WebSphere product stack (what each does, where it sits, what it connects with, what it produces/helps with etc) - thats why GLUE is hoping to spread the news that we now have this 'recruitment services' offering for our clients to accompany our already successful consulting & delivery business. I am happy to have communication with anyone who might be interest in finding out more or even registering with us for future.

regards

Paul
