Hi

I downloaded "saveqmgr" tool from ibm site (http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&q1=mA1J&uid=swg24000673&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en) but unfortunately its not working on AIX machine.

I will await your valueable response.

Thanks and Regards
Gayathri

"Not working" in what way? Not running? Running but producing no apparent output? Running but producing an MQ reason code? Running but abending?

A clue if you please....

Also what version of AIX & MQ are you using?

For the record it did work on AIX about 3 years ago, which was the last time I tried it on that platform. That was MQ 5.3.something and a fairly current version of AIX (site was leading edge on upgrades). I feel certain if something had changed in the meantime, someone would have noticed.

If we assume that the people responsible for this support pack unaccountably forgot to test it on AIX, and that nobody in the entire world has ever run it on AIX before, then your statement that it does not work on AIX might be true.

However, I think that is very unlikely. The most obvious reason for the unspecified failure on AIX is that YOU have done something wrong.

The way to fix this is for you to take responsibility for your own actions, and to supply a detailed list of the steps you have taken to try and get it to work and the error msgs that it is producing.

Please see this:

Hi

I apologize,

MQ Version : 6.0.1.1
AIX - r2p1 rep 2 5 00209B0B4C00

About the error:

We have tried the MQ 6.0 saveqmgr utility "saveqmgrc.hp" in HP-UX servers, it worked fine. Where as when we try "saveqmgrc.aix", it does not work and failed with the below errors. And in the end it says "Processing Aborted, output file may be incomplete".

Well maybe - look up the reason code and see what you think!

I believe if you run it with -? you will find that there is a switch that will change the way the utility behaves when it encounters a damaged object.

Enjoy
