Hi,
I hope someone can help me... I an a non technical manager who is about to go into a fairly hostile meeting this afternnoon and I need to know if it is possible to do something with MQ.
I have a simple requirement to extract MQ request and response messages and save them to disk. These messages will then be used to build a test harness on a site which does not have MQ connectivity.
It is really important that this is achieved using standard out of the box tools as shipped by IBM and that 3rd party products are not required.
I know of a utility called amqapi.exe which does what I need, but it seems that it will only read approx 16K of data in the response message.
Does anyone know how I can extract larger response messages using standard IBM utilities (i.e. without writing program code to do this through the API or 3rd party products)?
As you can tell, it's not my company that will need to extract these messages and I'm being told it is "very difficult and time consuming" by my supplier - surely it can't be that hard?
Many thanks in advance!

As SHIPPED by IBM, there's nothing.
The sample programs only read about 100 K.
Freely available, though, you could look at RFHUTIL which is part of Support Pack IH03, or the "q" program which is, I think, MA01. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

You don't say what platform the messages are being retrieved from.
In general (and clearly from the information you've provided it's very general!) I'd have said the q programme would be your best bet.
And no, it's not that hard... _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Guys,
Many thanks for your help. RFHUITL does exactly what we need and one of my guys has tested it and I can now go into my meeting armed with the info I need.
Thanks again
