Is is possilbe to change the default from 500 messages to a higher number. We have a queue that we put long running transactions on and at times it get above 500 during CICS problems and the Explorer is stopping me at the first 500 messages. I am using V6

This is pretty easy to do, although I'm assuming you are talking about the queue depth (curdepth) setting of the queue? This can be done easily by going to the properties of the queue and setting the "Maximum Queue Depth" to whatever you need it to be.

Hi gus,

Are you talking about the Queue depth of a queue or the Max Uncommitted messages of the Queue manager....

I feel the second as transations are not decided by the queue....

If i'm right, then u can change the Max Uncommitted messages from the Queue manager properties in the explorer.

Regards.

As Roger already pointed out, there isn't a way to change this. MQ Explorer is designed to be an administration tool and not a message management or application operations tool.

Most of the professional Monitoring solutions include a message management component, so if you have one of those then you probably have another tool to use.
