Using M071 (MQMON) utility, I can browse a message from the SYSTEM.DEAD.LETTER.QUEUE. Looking at the detail of this message (using MQMON) - it is displayed as:

MQMD
DLH
Message Body

where there are field contents for both MQMD and DLH displayed.

The length of this message is shown by MQMON as 2209.

When I browse this message with my own Java app and display it, the Total Message Length is 2209 but neither readFully or readStringOfCharLength(totalLength) yields a detailed report of this message which includes the MQMD shown by MQMON.

Anybody know what is going on here?
