Hi mqwf,
mqwf wrote:
But I thought that forums are to HELP each other and not give rude replies

Does help mean doing your work for you....

What the members here understand by helping is....you try to install it, if u have issues during installation, post them, and then we'll HELP....what ur asking of us is not help, but spoon feeding.

And the rude replies are coz u have dragged this topic to 14 posts, by now u have got the pdf and should have atleast started your installation.

Regards.

I dont think that if someone gives me a document of installation is doing work for me....DOING WORK for me would be if that person INSTALLS IT FOR ME ))))

And i posted on this forum cause i wanted to install it urgently and going through the REDBOOK is a lot...so if someone has a habit of installing then for tht person it will not take more than a 1 minute to jot it down

IT WAS NOT ME who dragged it to 15 posts....i am not reponsible for other people reply to this post unnecessarily....

ANYWAYS THANKS FOR PROMPT reply from everyone...I HAVE installed it successfully.....

You were born, and so you're free.

Help anyone however you want.

But what does it mean to "help"? Does it mean to carry someone? Or teach them to walk?

And as you've demonstrated with perfect clarity that following the instructions leads to a successful installation it should never come to that. A shining example of the power of documentation and the need to read.

Who told you to read the REDBOOK?

What you were told to do was to read the installation instructions and Quick Beginnings that comes with MQ for every platform. It's like getting a new DVD player and you have to read the manual on how to connect it. That's what you were asked to do, and you flatly refused.

Give a poor man a fish and he will be saturated for one day.
Teach him how to fish and he will have something to eat for his entire live.

Anyway. This whole thread is kinda hillarious in a really weird way.

Most importantly, the importance of product documentation.

I try and fill both roles. It's important to be multi-skilled in today's compedative job environment.

Especially at my age

All posts to this forum are unneccessary.

Everyone here posts what they want, when they want, because they choose to.

Nobody gets paid to answer questions here. Nobody is forced to answer questions here. There is no necessity at all.

You asked a specific question "What are the steps to install MQ". You were given an answer "The steps to install MQ are in the documentation". You then asked for someone to repeat the documentation, instead of reading it yourself.

If I walked into your office, and asked you where I could get a drink, and you said "There's a soda machine right around the corner", and then I asked you to please go get me a soda from the machine, how would you react?

I know no one is paid to answer a question but that doesnt mean that u should respond rudely.

If someone is posting a question on this site...it maybe because of some urgency....

and wrt to SODA thing u are saying
i would come with you to the soda machine....since u are new in the office and might get lost.....i will not throw tanturms at you saying "HELLO I HAVE SHOWN YOU THE WAY ...FOLLOW IT.....like the way people in this post reply to

Are you getting completely carried away now?
Are you going home tonight, whining that nobody loves you?
Are you trying to play charade with us?
Are you John Wayne?

Dude... At the end you asked for a document that describes the thingy. You were given one. An excellent one by the way. So what on earth is your problem?

Remember this... Whenever somebody is replying to your posts, my posts, in fact it doesn't matter who's posts, they are giving away a bit of there spare time. Nobody gets any credit, other than the good feeling to have helped somebody, for posting here. So you should learn to appreciate the fact that nobody will do your homework for you.
