Is it possible to deploy with a V6 toolkit to a V5 configuration manager and V5 broker. It seems I read that they are compatible but I am getting an error when I try to deploy. I can connect from V6 toolkit just fine but I am getting an error when I try to deploy(I replaced my actual object names with generic names in """"):

************************************************************
BIP2211E: Invalid configuration message containing attribute value '' which is not valid for target attribute 'validateMaster', object '"broker schema"."message flow name"."Fail Queue"'; valid values are 'none, content, value, contentAndValue, inherit'

The message broker received a configuration message containing the attribute value '' which is not valid for the target attribute 'validateMaster', on object '"broker schema"."message flow name"."Fail Queue"'. Valid values are 'none, content, value, contentAndValue, inherit'. This can be caused by a mismatch in levels between the Message Brokers Toolkit, the Configuration Manager and the Broker, or as a result of a user or third party written user-defined node where the implementation library installed at the broker does not match the node definition held at the Configuration manager and Message Brokers Toolkit.

Ensure that the levels of code installed at the Message Brokers Toolkit, Configuration Manager and Broker are all consistent. If they are, identify the supplier of the target object and report the problem to them. If this is IBM, contact your IBM support center.

Please help.

Yes it is possible, but make sure that your v5 components are up to date on service (at least CSD05 I think).

Everything is up to date on CSDs; from reading further it looks like I need to migrate the configuration manager to V6 in order to administer a V5 broker? Right now I have just a V6 toolkit but I think I need a V6 toolkit and config mgr to administer a V5 broker? Does this sound correct?

No, the v6 toolkit can connect just fine to a v5 configmgr.

Is your Toolkit up to at least FP1 with iFix04?

hmmmmm; this is what I am running:

WebSphere Message Brokers Toolkit - Message Broker

Version: 6.0.0.1
Build id: 20060106_1130

The reason why I ask is that the *exact* same problem has occurred several times before (v6 deploy to v5 broker causes the same validateMaster error) and the application of CSD05 to the Config Manager fixed the problem.
Do make sure that you're up to date on service before you raise a PMR.
