Hi,
I working on migration of my MQSI 2.1(Broker running in AIX, Config Manager in Windows2003.
In Config Manager/Control Center machine, after installed and configure MB6, i am trying mqsimigratecomponents commands. The command seem successfully executed and i manage to connect to domain using MB toolkits.
My issue is why after connected to the local domain(MB6), i can't see my old BROKER and EG showing under MB domain ?? I have read through the Red Book and seem like i did't miss out anything.... any idea why ?
Thanks for the advance and sorry for the bad english i wrote...
Regards |

You might have migrated the config mgr but did you migrate the brokers too?

You shouldn't need to migrate the brokers to get them to show up and be controlled by the v6 ConfigMgr.
You might need to patch them to the newest level of WMQI 2.1, though. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

If you take a v2.1 Config Manager and use mqsimigratecomponents to migrate it directly to v6, then you should be able to see your brokers in the domain straight away, so long as your connection parameters have been set up correctly in the toolkit. It's got nothing to do with the version/fixpack levels of the broker component.
Note that your domain's data is actually migrated from the DB2 database the first time you start the Config Manager at the v6 level, so check your system log from around this time to see if you got any errors.
Also make sure that you didn't see any problems trying to connect to the Config Manager from the toolkit (e.g. any 'Restricted access' errors).

Matt does that mean that access rights (ACLs in V6) get migrated too? _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Well, v2.1 didn't have object level security - but any ACLs created in v5 wil be migrated.
In addition, ACLs will be automatically created for users in the mqbr* groups - and this applies to v2.1 and v5 migrations.
