Hello!

Is there any way to log all workflow system messages which appears in the console of fmcautil, into the fmcsys.log file?

There are error/warning messages which are written to console but doesn't appears in the system/error log files. As far as I know it's because fmcsys.log doesn't containts all log entrys. But is it configurable to do it so?

-----

Does the system_log table in the workflow runtime database contains all log messages? Which column contains the "human redable" log message sting which is written to console too?

Thanks in advance,
Robert

To my knowledge this is not configurable. I am of the opinion that you are correct in that there are some messages only written to the table and not the file.

As to the message in the table, I do not believe it is there. YOu would need to take the message number, retrieve that message then substitute the parameters.

Hello Jmac!

Thanks for the fast reply.

Aha. Ok, in that case I'd like to ask, if is there any way to read/select or whatever those workflow messages from somewhere, which appers on the fmcautil console.

Wy I ask this, is because I've noticed that for example, if an xml message doesn't mach with a datastructure, workflow logs it to the console of fmcautil. BUT I've not found those messages in any log file neither in the runtime database.

Our customer use windows. How can I collect those "missing" but pretty important(!) messages??

Best regards,
Robert

The message text for the message numbers shown in the table can be found in the file Message.properties. This file is located somwhere within the fmcjapi.jar file.

The messages written to the Admin Console are all in the System_Log table (I BELIEVE, I am not 100% certain on this). So you can get the messages from the table.

Bottom Line for me... I always look at the flat files and the tables when I am looking for errors. From my experience I have seen that fmcerr.log is identical to the Error_Log, but as you have noticed fmcsys.log and the System_Log have differences.

One final thing. These messages are important to the Developer, not the end user. Any developer who puts models into production withoug looking closely at all the error logs is making a mistake. By the time a model is running in a production mode, these error logs should only need to be monitored by the MQWF administrator.
