Any sugestion as to why the following is happening would be appreciated greatly...

On a 2003 server I have a .net component used to interface with MQ (via amqmdet.dll). Accessing this component from a VB6 component works correctly, specifically, when the MQQueueManager object encounters an error, this is correctly thrown to the .Net component.
However, with the VB6 component moved to run under COM+, if the MQQueueManager encounters an error it appears to be unable to throw the error to the .net code and the components hang.

Any clues as to what is happening? Presumably the MQQueueManager is unable to throw the exception due to COM+ restrictions on 2003 (this same setup works on a w2k server). I have read the release notes for V6 and issues round COM+/2003 but the suggestions make no difference. What resources are required for MQQueueManager to throw an exception?

I don't think this is an MQSeries problem, but a COM+/2003 configuration and/or problem. I have seen something like this before, and it was a security issue that needed to be dealt with on that particular node. I'm afraid I don't have any specifics of that particular issue, but you may need to go elsewhere (than MQ) to find resolution.

Thanks for the post. I had sort of hoped it was an MQ issue as I suspect COM+/2003 is likely to be painful

In case anyone else experiences this, it turned out to be the version of Websphere MQ client we were using, V6. Applying fix patch 6.0.1.1 looks to have resolved things.
