I've discovered a problem with the WebSphere MQ Broker and I was wondering if anyone here has found a simular issue.
Currently, we have the Broker (Configuration Manager and Broker) running under the 'mqsi' user. Occasionally, this logon gets locked out. When this happens, we unlock the account, restart the services and we cant see the queues under WebSphere MQ Explorer (?!). We can see them through using the 'runmqsc' tool from the command line but not through the GUI. Once we restart MQ, Configuration Manager and Broker, everything is okay again... Has anyone found this before?
This may have to do with security and the account having been locked out.
Anyway it is not a good practice to run the broker under a logon account.
run it under a group account that nobody logs in with.(Hint the group members log in in Unix. In Windows it is a group member for which the password never expires and nobody should be able to login interactively with that account...). So you don't have to worry about the account getting locked out.
