Hi
We do have the Q Managers configured using cluster. Now, we are trying to remove the concept of cluster and hence, needs re-configuration of the Q Managers. Is there any means of renaming the existing Q Managers and then trying to re-create the same set of Q Managers without Cluster.
Kindly help me know the command for renaming the q managers.
Cheers

Question - why not simply remove the queue managers from the cluster? Why do they need to be renamed? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

You can't rename queue managers. You can backup their definitions and then recreate them with a new name and delete the original qmgr. _________________ -wayne |

Can you please let me know how to back up the Q Manager??
Also, it would be helpful if you could let me know the procedures to remove the QManager from the Cluster as well.
Thanks a lot for your help.
Cheers

Backing up a queue manager is usually performed using the MS03 support pack, possibily using the MS63 pac to backup authorities (depending on the complexty of your security set-up). I would put it to you that if you're breaking up a cluster your current security will need to be redefined.
As to removing a qmgr from a cluster, you'll find the procedure laid out in the Cluster manual far more clearly & completely than I could hope to. It's available in the infocentre or at http://www.elink.ibmlink.ibm.com/public/applications/publications/cgibin/pbi.cgi?CTY=US&FNC=SRX&PBL=SC34658900 _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

MS63 is obsolete, use amqoamd instead. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I knew that. It's such a shame I forgot all about it when I was typing.
