Hi everyone,
I'm new to WMQI. I have been reading 'Developing solutions using Websphere MQ Integrator.pdf' and trying out the sample application that is given there.
I installed MQ(6.0) and WMQI(2.1, CSD2.0) on windows XP. The user i'm working has administrative role.
I was able to create and start both configuration manager and broker. I'm able to launch control center. However, when I goto topology tab, I do not get any menu options(like check out, check in, create broker, etc). All of them are greyed out. I do not get anything on right-click as well. I checked user-roles as well. I have 'All-roles' permission. I tried other roles without success. Any one know what could be wrong ? |

Might I suggest you start off by installing Message Broker V6 or at least V5?
MQSI 2.1 is very very old, if you must use that, then at least apply the latest CSD to it. _________________ -wayne |

I don't think that is a supported combination

Did you add the user to the correct groups.

I started with WMQI 2.1 because the application I will be supporting is using that as of now.

I tried with MQ 5.3 and WMQI 2.1, with same result. My computer is not in domain but connected through workgroup. As I already have stated, that the user I'm working with has administrative access. How do I add the user to groups in XP ?
Thanks in advance. |

OK. My comment about MQ V6 and WMQI V2.1 was about the fact that if you report that combination to IBM, the likely result is that it's not supported.
My comment about users and groups was purely a WMQI issue, which will apply to any version, and I'd suggest you read up in the manual about what groups are created when you install the software, and what users you need to add to those groups.

The groups are pretty obsolete in v6, and will likely be completely obsolete in later versions. As far as I know. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
