I have suspended the queue managers from the cluster and then shut them down. Is that the good way to do it? Even though i suspended the queue managers from the cluster before i turned them off i see lot of event messages written in the other queue managers that are trying to connect to them, i thought suspending them would stop other queue managers in the cluster to try to connect.

Suspending them doesn't remove them.

Suspending doesn't prevent a queue manager from being delegated to receive work.

Start the qmgrs, delete the cluster channels and remove the qmgr from the cluster FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS IN THE MANUALS, and then refresh the cluster.
