Chaps,

Our project is asking if we can output messages from our AIX broker directly to a UNIX print queue.

I think there are two main ways to achieve this...

    We can convert a message to a file using something like WBIA(JText) & have a cron job polling the target directory & submitting the content to the print queue.

    Alternatively we could remove the intermediate directory & write directly to the print queue maybe from a plugin node.

Anyone done this before or have opinions on these alternatives?

Have you considered/tried using the File Extender to write to (for example) /dev/lp0 ?

MBFE has advantages over JText in that it is integrated into the broker.
