I installed the CVS version 2.5.03.2151 on a Windows 2003 server. When I try to connect from the Message Broker 6.0 Toolkit from Windows 2000 server I get this Error
I/O Exception occurred: connection refused: E:/CVSRepo: no such repository.
I tried with the other options from this forum for similar issues but had no luck. Here are my questions ?
1. Is this CVS version supported on Windows 2003. Has anyone tried it.
2. I am using the 2401 default port and made sure that no one is using it.
3. I tried changing to different directories in configuration and connecting but did not help.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

What information did your CVS administrator give you as the correct location of the repository?
Are you sure that "E:/CVSRepo" is the valid path to the root of a valid repository? It seems like probably it's not. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Initially I had C:/CVSRepo as the repository and C:/CVSTemp as the Temp folder.
Later I changed it to E:/CVSRepo, E:/CVSRepo/WBIMB,
C:/CVSRepo and C:/CVSRepo/WBIMB and tried all these but had no luck. |

And has your CVS Administrator confirmed that CVSRepo is the correct directory, and which disk, C: or E: it resides on.

I installed CVS and am the Admin. I first tried with CVSRepo on C: and then on E: but had no luck. I also tried further sub-directories (like C:/CVSRepo/WBIMB, E:\CVSRepo\WBIMB) and all combinations but still no luck. |

Did you create a correct CVS repository in E:\CVSRepo?
Did you try using "E:\CVSRepo" instead of "E:/CVSRepo"?
Did you try using a different tool to verify the CVS setup, before you tried to connect to it from the Toolkit? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I followed the documentation from http://www.cvsnt.org/wiki/InstallationTips. I was also able to chekcin some sample file suggested in their document successfully through the commands which even updated the version number for that file.
I tried all the combinations E:/CVSRepo, E:\CVSRepo, ...etc.... |

Hi
When you set up your repository you define a ROOT E:/CVSRepo and a name typically "/cvsrepo"?
Have you tried to access it with pserver and a local user account?
Have you tried different configurations in the Compability tab in your CVSNT Control Panel ?
I dont know if there is any issues in Win 2003 user accounts setup. If you can you should use the real cvs inplementation on a Linux/Unix environment then you get support for security for free! _________________ IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere MQ V6.0

Yes, I have tried E:/CVSRepo, C:/CVSRepo and other combinations through the CVSNT control panel. I re-started the CVS services with 2 domain different userid's and a local userid and tried to connect from the Toolkit using pserver and the specific userid's but I still get the same error. |

You should connect to the name you specified "/cvsrepo", NOT the cvs ROOT Path! _________________ IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere MQ V6.0

Thanks a lot Mili...
You are right, The issue is resolved once I gave the /CVSRepo as the path. |
