Here's a good one:

"What actual experience do you have with MQ? What projects have you worked on?"

What area of MQ are you pursuing, programming or administration.

Are you interviewing for junior-level positions ?

Gosh, I sure hope the person you're interviewing with doesn't read MQSeries.net.

Hey guys,
thank u soo much for the response. For the first two days I felt probably I shouldn't post such things in the forum. But now tht u all have responded , I feel good. I have gone through the material but I am unable to guess what kind of questions will I be facing.Even I hope the person interviewing me doesn't visit these forums too orelse he will make the interview more complicated. The links u have given me are not working. So any suggestions or any kind of guidance would help beginners like me a lotttttt.

Thanks.

Do you think we are sadists?

Well I was doing a lot of technical interviews in the past. Have a complete set of questions divided into easy, medium and hard. And I don't feel that my questions are unfair. I also don't necesarily need people to know every detail.

BUT: I expect people who want to work for us, that they know enough about MQ to do their job.
So if you go to an interview, and don't pass. I am pretty sure that it is not because the interviewer is reading MQSeries.net or the listserv. It is just because they might need somebody who is higher profile. Or they just don't think the applicant would not fit into the existing team.

Going to an interview is not about proofing that you are the worlds best admin, developer or whatever. It is more about showing that you have right mentality, that your are willing to learn and that you are motivated.

cheers and good luck
Sebastian

Hey Sebastian,
I was trying to say it in the comic sense but not to offend you. Please don't misunderstand me .Since you are all experienced people I thought your messages might help. But if I offend you in any way, I am very sorry.

The reason I suggested that it might be bad if the interviewer read MQSeries.net, is that it might now look like you're trying to "cheat" on the interview.

I'm sure that's not what you're doing, you just didn't want to get completely surprised.

But everyone is going to ask different questions, and sometimes they want to know how you handle yourself when you've been completely surprised...

Ohhhhh my god,
I never thought my idea of posting this topic can get me into big trouble.Anyway thanks Jeff for letting me know. As a beginner I wanted some advice as to browse what kinds of material and other stuff but I never wanted to know what kind of questions you guys have asked in the past. I have gone thru admin guide and other stuff but I feel ,I am missing something. In order to do well in the interview probably I am screwing my impression here. If anybody is even interested to delete this topic, I won't mind. From now on I would post only if I have any doubts or if I am stuck with anything.

Thanks.

If you want to be an MQ Admin, you might want to take the sample certification test for MQ admins (for a small fee) ... start here:
