Hello,
Can any one please explain me the different ways to authenticate the publishers and subscribers using UserNameServer in a pub/sub topology?
Also, if I have to use an identity management tool(third party.. for eg:ACF2 or LDAP), how do i configure usernameserver to work with this tool?
Any help is greatly appreciated. |

I think the only way to do this is to configure the OS that the UNS is running on to use the third party ID management tool.

Does this mean that I just have to install my identity management tool and configure it with my OS..... no steps explicitly required to make the UNS get the info from that identity management tool?
Can you please explain how would the UNS architecture work to look up the identity management tool for the required info?
Also, any ideas about how to authenticate publishers and subscribers on a topic.

UNS authenticates users against the OS user registry, as far as I know.
So if the OS user registry is an LDAP, then UNS will authenticate against an LDAP (ActiveDirectory in Windows is a prime example).
You should read the Pub/Sub User's Guide. And then the sections in the Info Center for WBIMB about the UNS.
