Hi,
I migrated WMQI V2.1+FP5 to WBIMB V5.0+FP5 the entire migration went fine. But for some of the message sets the Max Occurs field in one of the Compound element changed from 254 to -1. I specified -g option during mqsimigratemsgsets command.
I checked in the WBIMB help about Max Occurs =-1 according to that it should work fine. But it is not able to parse the message if the compound element repeats more than once. If I change the value from -1 to 254 it works fine.

I wanted to know why the value changed from 254 to -1

Hope I will get a reply

Thanks

Sounds a bit strange to me. All the same, I don't see why it should change the behaviour (unless your input message contains at least 255 repeats!).

Thanks for the reply.
After migration the problem I faced was if the repeating element in the message appears only once then the parser was able to parse it correctly. But if it appears more than once the parser treating it as a single value and not able to parse the content. The message set is MRM Delimited Form.

Once I changed the Max Occurs value of the compound element(which can repeat more than once also) from -1 to 254 it worked fine. Why is it so?

Thanks

Hi,

I would like to add a similar situation faced during migration of message sets.

The Repeating Element Delimiter property for a TDS message was not reflected during migration from v2.1 to v5.0

Is it possible to know why? Maybe ppl from IBM can help.

Thanks.

You'll have to raise PMRs for IBM to investigate these two mqsimigratemsgsets problems. Neither of them have been reported before.
