Hi All,
We have Config Manager and Broker in same windows box.We have decided to separate and to delete the configuration manager from Broker and move configuartion manager to another windows Box.
Could you please suggest me the neccessary steps needs to be taken care with no impact? _________________ Bravo |

You can't delete the configmgr from the broker, except by deleting the broker.
There are procedures somewhere here for moving a configmgr to a different machine, by backing up and restoring the configmgr database...
I expect in v6, you will just have to move the file system - but I'm not positive. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

The topic you quoted deals with how to backup and restore the whole domain (including brokers), and may be overkill for what you want.
In V6, to move the CM onto from one machine (source) to a new queue manager or machine (target), you could:
1) Stop the CM
2) mqsibackupconfigmgr on the source machine
3) File copy the CM archive onto the target machine
4) Create a CM on the target machine
5) mqsirestoreconfigmgr on the target machine
6) Start the new CM
7) Do a complete topology deploy (this is to tell all the new brokers to start reporting status to the new CM)
I *think* that's all you need to do - apologies if I've missed anything |
