Hi all
We have to clusters red and green with 2 app qmgr in red (w2k) and 2 app qmgr in green (HPUX), there also is a bridge with 2 repositories (w2k) connecting the 2 clusters. The repositories are full repositories for both clusters.
We run MQ v 5.3.09.
We experience great activity in the channel communication between the 2 repositories. I suspect this to be gossip messages. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and how to solve this?

Any advice is greatly appeciated.

Regards
EB

Try defining the problem before asking for a solution.

What do you mean by great activity?
How many msgs?
On what have you based your suspicion?

Find out what the msgs are by stopping the channels and inspecting the msgs in the cluster xmitq.

Full repos qmgrs exchange metadata about all the objects in the cluster whenever an object is changed, or when told to do so by a cluster command like REFRESH CLUSTER or SUSPEND QMGR.

Hi
Sorry if I was to wage in my problem description.

By great activity I mean over a million messages over the channels.
I did stop the channel and only one message was in the SYSTEM.CLUSTER.TRANSMIT.QUEUE. I therefore believe this message is sent back and forth between the to qmgrs also keep in mind there are no changes in the cluster so there should not be a metadata exchange, except of course for dynamiccally generated objects.

I am not really interested in what you believe.
Do you have any facts?

What was the 1 msg you did see?
After starting the channels and stopping them again, was it the same msg in the xmitq, or a different one?

Actually I havent tried that approach. For now the channels are behaving as they should, meaning no messages are on the TRANSMIT queue when stopping the channel.
This would mean that it is not the same message.
