Hi,
I have just configured my syslog.conf file to direct all error related information to a log file. I was wondering if it was possible to have some sort of circular logging here....i mean that the user log files keeps getting overwritten and does not exceed a particular size limit . I'm scared that if data just keeps getting appended i might have a system crash on my hands !!! any ideas???
I am running WBI MBV5 CSD 4 on an AIX box. _________________ Prithvi
It is not possible to make a syslog circular. Ask your sysadmin to write a cron job to backup and clean it up every often. Syslog follows the syslog protocol as specified in RFC 3164
