Hi,

Installed WMQ CSD10 on Solaris and no errors were posted, said the "installation" was successful by following the procedure in the 'readme' provided.

Next tried to start a few queue managers, again no error message returned, but then when I tried to do a dspmq, the system just "hanged" and nothing was returned.

Has anybody else come across this error?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Bhaps

Before installing a new CSD on any unix platform :
1) shutdown any existing QMGR
2) Make sure the memory is released (amqiclen)
3) Do the upgrade
4) Check the upgrade
5) if there is a problem you may have to reboot
(did skip point 2 hehe... now you're paying for it !!)
6) If it still not working ... roll back !!

Enjoy

First of all thanks for the reply.

Yes we did the following:

1) shutdown any existing QMGR - Yes and also all listeners
2) Make sure the memory is released (amqiclen) - Yes and also cleared semaphores.
3) Do the upgrade - Yes followed and "Installation was successful"
4) Check the upgrade - How would you do this? Apart from trying to start the queue managers?
5) if there is a problem you may have to reboot - This is something we havent done and the reason being its not in the manual or read me, but if it is required then will try this.
(did skip point 2 hehe... now you're paying for it !!)
6) If it still not working ... roll back !! -- hehe thanks.
