You know, they used to actually provide this information in the 2.1 manuals.

For whatever wacky IBM reason, most of the low level operational information has been removed from the WBIMB info center.

BIPBROKER is the broker. BIPSERVICE is the thing that starts BIPBROKER, and restarts it when it or other things fail.

DATAFLOWENGINE is an Execution Group.

I looked thru all the manuals and Help but did not find anything, thanks for your insight.
That's exactly what I thought but I define a broker , use mqsistart to start it but only see a BIPSERVICE processes, any ideas?

If nothing is deployed to the broker, then it will not be "running", and so maybe there won't be a BIPBROKER process...

It will show up in the Toolkit as being running. Again, see what happens when you deploy a test flow... I bet that you'll see both BIPBROKER and a DATAFLOWENGINE appear.

Mine says, "Broker Is Not running"
I see no BipBroker process on the Unix machine.
When I do a start of the broker, it says component allready running.

Yes.

Because nothing is deployed yet. This is normal.

Deploy something.

See what happens next.
