Which user are you talking about? I can't seem to find him or his posts... _________________ Brandon Duncan

Well, I'm just glad to see it go. We don't need garbage like this on an MQ site. |

I think the user was "pics005" or something... Well glad to see that the post has gone already... The number of Spam has increased quiet a bit over the last 2 months... (Well, I am not complaining, I have just noticed)
Could it be that the new CICS forum is enabled for guest posts? I think there were also some posts from not logged in people, and I think this could pottentialy be abused. |

Well I didn't because I don't have Mod authority here but if I did I would have. _________________ Yes, I am an agent of Satan but my duties are largely ceremonial. |

Maybe the author him/her-self realizing it was not cool to post this topic here as it has nothing to do with MQ.... |

I would love to belive that. But I am still sort of thinking, that this is a robot created user with a robot created post...
I think that this is also the reason, why nowadays you have to type in a code from a picture if you register for something new... They still not managed to machine-read those.
If you go trough the memberlist, there are just too many users, refering to webpages with absurd contents, to be manualy created. IMHO |

Well by Brandons definition the General Discussion Board is not restricted to the discussion of WMQ topics but, that being said I doubt he ever intended it to be a place to discuss things like incest or a place to post links to incest web sites. _________________ Yes, I am an agent of Satan but my duties are largely ceremonial. |

I deleted that post. As we all agree we don't need that kind of stuff on this website. I deleted couple of such posts in past. One interesting thing to note is that the user registers on this website with a different name but when you look at the IP address its same (most of the fimes) for such posts. _________________ Kiran

Well done, Kiran!
Is it technically posible to block this IP (if its always the same). I mean ripe allows one to look up where the IP belongs too. If it is registered to one of those 'IamASpamer.com' sites, maybe this is something to be looked at?! |

Yes, I could block any number of IPs, but unfortunately managing all that takes time I simply do not have. Until issues become absolutely unbearable it's hard for me to spend the time to do anything about them.
In the grand scheme of things the level of spam on this site is quite low compared to other discussion sites I've visited... _________________ Brandon Duncan
