Yeah, unfortunately all my MQ on AIX experience is limited to 4.3.3. But perhaps someone else has performed this upgrade...

We had MQ 5.3 CSD3 installed on a 4.3.3 server and it was recently upgraded to AIX 5.2. No issues for us but I'm not sure about base 5.3 with no CSDs...

If you have a look at the following URL it seems to imply that it is supported (ie. tested) and they don't mention any PTFs needed for either MQ or the O/S.

http://www-3.ibm.com/software/integration/mqfamily/platforms/supported/wsmq_for_aix_5_3.html

Hope this helps...

no problems here on AIX 5.2, do upgrade to MQ 5.3 CSD 4, CSD 3 is a little older but still has some problems.

CSD 4 looks to be running smoothly.
