Further to the problem of messages sitting on cluster transmit queues for which I opened a thread a couple of days ago, I now think that the problem results from the existence of two auto-defined cluster channels with the same name on the queue manager where the channels are not starting correctly. The two channels have different QMIDs and also different CONNAME values, one being an IP address while the other is a host name (the older QMID). The corresponding cluster receiver channel has CONNAME (IP address).
I now need to get rid of the older definition. I think that the cluster utility (ms0g) to remove a qm from a cluster by QMID may do this for me? Is there any other way of getting rid of the incorrect channel? |

Oh boy... I've had all sorts of problems with these "ghost" cluster channels in the past. However that was with MQ5.2, and there may very well be some utilities with 5.3 that can help you. I've usually resorted to various trickery usually involving the REFRESH CLUSTER and SUSPEND QMGR commands on both repository and non-repository machines. Some other folks have even altered the messages on the SYSTEM.CLUSTER.REPOSITORY.QUEUE to forceably remove the definition. You might want to use the search tool to look at some of our previous discussions on this topic. _________________ Brandon Duncan

Further again to these two threads, the problems have been resolved. The cluster utility delqm removed the older duplicate auto-defined clussdr definitions and the channels are now starting correctly and moving messages off the cluster transmit queues. |
