We can see the number of processes reading from and writing to Q from IPProcs and OPprocs of a local Queue.
Can we know details of those processes? How? Thanks for any help.

dis qstatus on v 5.3. No easy way on other versions and platforms.
Search for dis qstatus in this forum and you would find a bunch of hits.

Great, That helped.
In case the queue is opened for input and output (ie, locked by user processes), can we make them unlocked? I know this is not right. Applications should release connections to MQ if any. What can we do in rare circumstances? |

Well, sometimes I've had to fall back onto restarting the queue manager to get rid of an IPPROC or OPPROC that refuses to go quietly into the night, but if your ultimate intention is to clear the queue, while runmqsc won't let you do this while there is a handle on the queue, you can write a small utility which will simply get all the messages off the queue and discard them, since it doesn't care if there is something else attached to the queue. _________________ Brandon Duncan
