Many times term Virtual User has been used. It helps in a way that less number of workitems are created and load on server is less. Buildtime Guide says,
Quote: |
If you need an alternative solution for a large number of persons, consider the
following:
. Create an additional person to represent a group of people.
. Work items are then created only for this group representative.
. All members of this group can access the worklist of the group
representative. In Buildtime, you can select a person, then select the
Authorization page and for Person: Workitem, select All persons or you
can specify the group representative explicitly.
. If a member of this group selects a work item from the worklist of the
group representative, that is, before starting the activity, the work item is
transferred to this group member. |
1.Is Buildtime Guide talking about same thing?
2.For an Activity Instance, How many workitems would be created if one person is authorised for the workitem of other person..one or two?

NO extra workitems. Workitems are created ONLY for the owner of thw workitem, hence the necessity of the Transfer of the workitem
Use of the Virtual user gives a 1 - 1 ActivityInstance to WorkItem, which in my opinion should be the goal from a performance point of view. Of course there are tradeoffs. _________________ John McDonald
