I want to perform a Queue Manager Backup and subsequent Recovery.I have some messages in a queue. I have also archived the var/mqm/QM and var/mqmq/log/QM directories. Then I do a media backup with the all option. After I perform the backup, I clear out the messages.
However, when I perform the system and media recovery, the messages arent restored. What do I have to do to ensure that the backup and recovery has been successful? Also, when I do a recovery, it gives OBJECT IN USE for some SYSTEM queues.Pls help....URGENTLY!

are the messages persistent or non-persistent ???

I am not sure you already did or not but did you take the back up of amqalchk.fl file.. This is the one that keeps track of the messages on the queue and keep the queues in consistancy with the log files..
