I'm using a web client interact with MQSeries Workflow. For the implementation of the programs in Buildtime i have a simple java application call LogUtility. I like to run the Web Client and Workflow Client at the same time. this way i can see the progress of each work item. but i recently realized that if i close the MQSeries Workflow client and just use the web client, the work items don't progress. I'm not sure if i have the proper setting for the implementation program. Should this program run unattented... do i need to inheriate certain things from the systerm i.e. inContainer or outContainer... any help will greatly be appreciated.

I need more information. Are you saying that you must run the IBM Fat Client and the IBM thin client to see any progress in your Model? If so this would be quite strange. Perhaps you could send me your FDL and I could have a look at that.

Hi,

I had the same problem. The workitems went to the checkout state. The reason was that the UPES for the user was not running. I fixed the problem running in a command line a UPES for each user, but I think that it´s not the way to solve the problem. I think the UPES should start automatically when the user logon the system.

Your problem looks quite similar.

Best regards,

Lillo

Lilo:

MQWorkflow will not start a UPES automatically. You must be sure to start it. And there is no need to have a UPES for each user or activity. A single UPES can serve many activities.

Sorry. I was wrong. When I mentioned UPES I meant PEA. This happen a long time ago and my memory is going worst every day.
