Anyone had a chance to have this setup? I understand that one of the nicer things in the 3.4 version workflow is that fact that one can create configurations from the gui as oppossed to using the fmczutil. (this is a v.nice feature ....finally our prayers answered, or atleast a few of them anyways.

Just curious to know what some of your experiences were. Any improvements in terms of speed when accessing worklists from the webclient?

Any findings interms of performance differences from websphere 5 compared to websphere 3.5?

Any input is appreciated!

Thanks,Praveen

I tried that setup and it works fine. The only difference is I didn't have a chance to use the GUI because our WAS boxes are on Unix based platforms.

I used the config on Windows and it put in a fine WAS5 configuration for me.

Anyone noticed any performance differences on Websphere 5 as compared to Websphere 3.5 or in your experiences do you think it's pretty much the same?

Since in the past I've always used TomCat, I really can't give an objective answer, but it appears to suck the life out of your system (i.e WAS 5.0) periodically my CPU will go 100% and it appears to be some java subtask in the WAS process chewing up the cpu.

OH Well... This gives me an excuse to ask for a new machine Right?

All those in favor say Aye...

Although I haven't done much with TomCat myself, apart from setting it up on my test machine at home for serving pages; I got a chance last night to setup workflow in conjunction with the TomCat server 4.2.1 using the java from sun. This was only for testing purposes by the way...

Yeah....it doesn't have a pretty GUI, but apart from a few tweaks here and there in the properties file it seemed very quick and easy to have setup as long as you had done it a few times which I hadn't.

Anything one other nice thing is the fact that the install isn't too complicated either and that goes for size of installation as well. But anyways, its definitely got different vibe going on for it then as compared to websphere...

hi all
i am using wmqwf3.4 and was5.0 and enjoying the fun and pain..

there are certainly issues.. because of other dependent components like mq... mq version is a real issue.. if he mq is 5.3 and csd is 3 then it will take u for a ride.. i have a surprise..if u have not noticied .. there is a HIPER available.. which is a must.. when csd3 is used..

https://www6.software.ibm.com/dl/wsmqcsd/wsmqcsd-p[url]

was5 creates mq queue mangers for each server.. and new problems..too

we are using latest holosofx monitor.. which adds to the problems.. though we could stabilize for now.. (actually we removed csd3 and making it work for now.. need to apply hiper and csd3 very soon.. )

another aspect of was50 is its service pack 1 which is available for download.. i thought it is a good idea to apply latest service pack...but i am not able to open after download from ibm support site.. (if anybody downloaded and opened successfully pl let me know )..

hope this helps..

regards

I didn't put CSD03 for MQ53 because charlie advised against it.

http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8592

I also received a couple of emails from the lab saying that wait for a while to put the latest CSD. But hopefully they will settle down. When (and what) is the new WMQWF release coming.. anyone has any idea
