Hi,

I am trying to make a cluster configuration for two Queue Managers created on two windows 2000 systems with Remote administration option checked. The systems are in the same network, but are not in the Domain. While trying to give the reference Remote Queue manager as the secondary repository, it gives the Error of Access not Authorized, you are not allowed to perform this operation (AMQ4036).

Do I need to make the users of each system as the member of mqm group of the other system/ do i need to use setmqaut command to give the required permission. But in both ways I am not able to give the required permission as the user of other system is not recognized since they are not in domain.

Is there any other configuration required to resolve the Problem.

Thanks in Advance

Syam

If the mqm user on machine 1 is A, and the mqm user on machine 2 is B, you do NOT need to add B to the mqm group on machine 1, and you do NOT need to add A to the mqm group on machine 2.
As far as recommending what to do to fix your problem, I'm afraid I can't help unless you give a more detailed description of your configuration.
Are you using MQExplorer or runmqsc to issue the command that fails? And what exactly is the command you are trying to issue?

I am using the MQSeries Explorer to make a cluster configuration with one local Queue Manager and one Remote Queue Manager as the repositories. While selecting the remote Queue manager with it's connection details it tries to contact it and fails with the above error saying AMQ4036 Access not authorized. You are not authorized to perform this operation

What could be the problem and how can i resolve it.

The problem is that your user does not have administrative access to the remote queue manager.

You can either log in directly to the server that hosts the queue manager with an ID that does have administrative access to the queue manager, or you can ask the owners of the remote queue manager to add it to your cluster, or you can ask the owners of the remote queue manager to give your ID administrative access.
