				| Customer set up QMgr on AS/400 a coupla months ago. It was done a little haphazardly and now needs tidying up.

Specifically, customer wants to be able to display, for any specific MQM object (for example a Queue), what user profiles have what authority to that object.

Trouble is there doesn't appear to be any simple way to do this.

The DSPMQMAUT command takes as its USER parameter only a single userID (or a group userID). You can't say USER(*ALL) here.
The dspmqaut script command is the same - you can only display MQM authorities for a specific user, rather than for all users
The standard OS/400 commands (WRKOBJ and then option 5, or just DSPOBJAUT) is no use 'cos the MQM object isn't controlled by OS/400, it's controlled by OAM
The IFS method (WRKLNK, then drill down, then option 9) is also no use, 'cos we're not seeing OAM stuff

So how can the customer quickly check what user profiles can access a specified MQM object, if there are, say 100 user profiles on the AS/400 ?

And vice versa, is there any way the customer can find out quickly and easily, what MQM objects a given user profile has access to (and what level of access) ?

				| Hugh,
This is quite an old posting - but in case you haven't identified the solution (and for the benefit of others), the answer is to use the amqoamd utility.

 Regards,
 Nick.

				| Nick,
Is there any doc for that command.

Looks like I can give up my reverse engineering of the AUTH Queue.

 Cheers,

				| Thanks for the reply.
Since posting the question, I have written a small utility on the AS/400 which takes argument "MQ object" and returns all user access to that object. Free of charge if anyone wants it ... ?

I am now interested in amqoamd but, like EddieA, I cannot find any documentation for it and how to use it on the AS/400 (e-Server iSeries) system.

Can anyone advise on use of amqoamd on AS/400 ?

				| Eddie, Hugh,
I have also been unable to track down any documentation on amqoamd, but it seems to be reliable and easy to use.

(Definitely an improvement over the 'AUTH queue approach' Eddie !)

 Regards,
 Nick.
