I have managed to install MQ 5.3 and WMQI 2.1 with CSD 3 onto Windows Xp. Each time i open up control centre and create a workspace it wont allow me to drag any nodes across into the message flow definition pane Also do i need to define users to user groups as XP does not have a user manager option.

Help on this would be greatly appreciated!

First off, XP should have a 'User Manager', even if it's not called that. In Windows 2000 it's 'Users and Groups' under 'Computer Management'.

Next - in order to do anything with WMQI the user you are running the control center as needs to be in the right mqbr* groups.

To create a program in WMQI (using nodes), you need to create a Message Flow, not just a workspace. Then you will be able to drag nodes onto the message flow definintion pane. Assuming your user is in mqbrkdevt group.

You should review your documentation.
