Hello,

I send a message from Windows to AS/400 using a RQD, and when I check the message putDateTime through MQSeries Explorer it is correct. However, once I do a GET the putDateTime shows a different value. (i.e., 4/11/98...). Does anyone know why this might be happening?

Thanks,

Brian

The date/time on the message is always held in UTC. When you view it through Exploder, it converts the time to Local, based on the Time Zone setting of your machine.

Cheers,

Eddie,
why do you always say it is based on UTC, and not GMT? Any dif between the two?
I would always say it is GMT.

Hi Kman,

The difference is more in semantics:
GMT= Greenwich (UK) Meridian Time
UTC= Universal Time Coordinate

Now paradoxally in the summer Greenwich (UK) is on GMT + 1 !!!
Whereas it is as well on UTC +1.

As UTC does not refer to a specific location on earth the newer speak looks at UTC.

Now in military tearms you can also speak of zulu time.

Enjoy
